Hawke’s Bay’s most impressive new sports facility lies within the Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre. Certified to the highest FINA international specifications, our 50m Olympic Pool is a world-class destination that is built to host local, national and major international swimming events right here in Hawke’s Bay.

Better yet, this pool is available to the public for lane swimming, and available to hire for local and national swimming events.

Main Pool

  • 51.5m pool includes a 1.5m movable bulkhead for long and short course meet hosting

  • 2.2m deep (allows for deep water sports eg water polo, canoe polo etc)

  • Gold standard accessibility features throughout facility including Pool Pod to allow dignified independent access to the pools

  • World class Omega electronic timing and touchpads, scoreboard and PA system available

  • FINA starting blocks, lane ropes, and backstroke flags available

  • Pool pod access available for disabled swimmers

  • Fixed seating for 840 people / temporary seating to allow for up to 1662 (largest in NZ)

  • High quality and efficient pool air heating

  • Large event marshaling room (90m2), first aid and drug testing rooms available

  • Meeting room available (75m2)

Learners Pool

Accommodation Hostel

  • 60 bed hostel, split into two 30 bed wings

  • Optional 12 extra rollaway beds

  • Each wing contains 12 twin share rooms and 3 twin share manager rooms

  • Two team lounges 

  • Fully equipped, self catering kitchen (catering options available)

  • Two adjoining dining rooms seating a total of 80
